Wesley Snipes, in his role from “Passenger 57,” is on the phone: “Do you play roulette? Remember: there’s no statistical advantage to betting either Red or Black.” The caption reads WESLEY SNOPES.
Nobody remembers the once-famous line “Always bet on Black,” anymore, probably. Does anyone even remember Snopes?
Here’s Steve Ditto Vs. Beatniks:
Ditko created Spiderman. I like him because everyone he draws looks sinister. He was a big fan of Ayn Rand so it’s no surprise that he didn’t have much truck with decadent, fad-chasing hipsters. The beats in the first panel have a strong Will Elder vibe; Ditko probably would’ve been a good artist for MAD, if his life hadn’t taken another turn. But just an artist. The drawings in this story are good, but the jokes are from hunger.
Come back next week. Me too. Maybe. Draw my cartoons.
