A grinning, blood-spattered maniac is being handcuffed as he stands over the bodies of the people he’s hacked to death. One cop reads from a card: “… anything you say can and will be held against you…”
This is a Gahan Wilson cartoon, in my head.
Here’s Ali Redford’s quick take on seven nine oh:
First off, I like this a lot, just on its own merits. The drawing is clear, and the added dialogue improves the joke (which, knowing Ali, is to be expected). Second, I like it because she did it so quickly. I worry sometimes that people will see some of the more professional cartoons that come in and think “I can’t do that,” so they don’t bother to try. Well, I love the really professional cartoons I get very much, but I also love it when non-drawers dash something off on a pad of lined notebook paper. Any cartoon is infinitely better than no cartoon. This cartoon is an excellent reminder to all of you — get to work!
Thanks, Ali, I love it.
Draw.
Aww. blush Thank you.
