Not an uncommon fear these days. We’re living in a movie that’s taking too long to wrap things up.
From a happier time… P.C. 49 was a popular character in mid-century Britain. He was a hardworking bobby who starred in a long running radio series, a few movies, and a comic strip:
The radio stories are good. I’m less convinced by the comics, but I haven’t read much of them. Anyway, his everyman-ness is what made him special. It’s nice to see a hero without powers, or who isn’t a top cop, sometimes. He was just a good-natured stiff walking a beat.
