We’re at a street fair. There’s face-painting booths, hot dog stands, cute balloons, and vendors offering free samples of different cocaine varieties. A banner reads “1st Annual Miami Beach Cocaine Festival.”
A 70’s era drug dealer (sunglasses, hairy chest, medallion) is telling a news crew: “So, I’m thinking… Donuts get festivals. Dumplings get festivals. Well I know something way more popular than dumplings…”

Nowadays, of course, this looks like a shopping catalogue for child abductors. The Archie Club used to have pages and pages of addresses so kids could find pen pals. I submitted a few essays to the Archie Club back in the day, but never won one of the cash prizes. That still kind of pisses me off. Did you ever see the essays that won?
I like that the hillbilly kid at center is wearing a genuine Hatfield/ McCoy style flat-top hat. And is Ronnie Costello wearing a prairie bonnet? America used to be weird.
