Two old men in the library of a fancy club. One grouses to the other: “I can’t believe who they’re letting into the 1% these days.”
If your only standard is money, you have no standards.
This would’ve been a good William Hamilton cartoon.
The Drink Savant makes it okay to love Mondays again with this no-frills take on nine seven nine:
This is just pencil on notebook paper, but it works. The grumpy dude in the armchair is especially convincing; he really sells the whole joke. And the off-kilter painting on the wall is an unexpected but delightful touch.
To see the same joke in the hands of a (very) professional artist, check out Margreet de Heer’s version. Frankly, I love them both. They both make me laugh, but in different ways, even though it’s the same joke.
Thanks, TDS — it’s terrific.
Draw.
