Cartoon Eight One Four
Eureka
Two writers typing on laptops at a coffee shop. One says to the other: “I looked at all the suffering in the world, all the pain, and I realized what we all really need: a buddy cop movie that can be made for under twenty mill.”
Maybe that’s true.
Below is a hilarious cartoon by Sam Means and Kate Beaton (she drew it) that is NOT a version of the comic I wrote yesterday:
Yes, the joke is almost exactly the same, but Sam and Kate made this ten years ago. Sam says “great minds think alike,” but I’m more inclined to believe that he must’ve shown this to me a while ago and I George Harrisoned it. Sam and Kate, I’m sorry, I promise it was inadvertent. Thanks for making such a funny comic.
Sam also makes funny cartoons. Season Two of Mulligan, the post-apocalyptic comedy he created with Robert Carlock, premiered last week on Netflix:
It’s got the voices of Nat Faxon, Tina Fey, Sam Richardson, Dana Carvey, and it’s written by Robert and Sam, so, you know, it’s funny. Check it out.
And come back next week. I’ll try to be here, too. And draw.
